August 2025: Arachnid Opilio canestrinii. Invasive Harvestman. Unlike true spiders, the body of a Harvestman consists of a single part rather than two. It was first seen in the UK in October 1999 in the Lea Valley, Essex. It is omnivorous and will eat dead squashed slugs, bird droppings, jam, fruit and other plants and the remains of small invertebrates that they might catch.
