Ashing Lane Nature Reserve is situated one mile east off the A46 at Dunholme. Parking is restricted; Please park half way down the lane, where the NWT parking sign is, and walk down to Monks Wood. Refreshments and a portaloo will be available – you may like to bring a camp chair and your own favourite tipple! Check our website for more information or to contact the organisers: moreinfo Nettleham Woodland Trust invites you to the Grand Opening of Monks Wood. Over the last 2 years this 15 hectare native woodland has been planned and planted by schoolchildren, university students, youth groups and local people. Together with the already established Watts Wood and Pickerings Meadow, it is part of the Ashing Lane Nature Reserve owned by Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust. Celebrations will begin at 1.30pm with the official opening, attended by Mrs Joy Monk and family, representatives from Waste Recycling Environmental Ltd and Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust. Later in the afternoon there’ll be a Teddy Bears Picnic for younger children and their parents. This will be followed by activities for local guide and scout groups and young people and their families, including a treasure hunt, games and orienteering. Or, just go for a stroll around the wood! Everyone is welcome to attend. |
